What is the best, safest and free registry cleaner for windows 7?

The best free cleaner is one called CCleaner. However, this tool is not very effective and will likely not be able to find the error that your PC has. In all honesty, it’s actually very ineffective because it’s not able to find and fix many problems that are on your system, leaving your PC with all sorts of errors left over.

This means that if you want to remove this error, you should really invest in a professional cleaner such as Registry Easy. This type of cleaner is more effective at cleaning the problems inside the registry and will be better placed at removing the errors you’re seeing. You can see this cleaner at

i have heard that clutter in your PC’s registry makes your computer slow. i need recomendations on what free registry cleaner i can download?

Cleaning the registry won’t really boost the responsiveness of your pc – always create a restore point before scanning and cleaning.

However, 3 good free tools you can use are:

Why should i use ccleaner and can i not use the registry cleaner function of the program?

I’m considering the installation of ccleaner but i’m scared i might use the registry cleaner function of it and destroy my registry?
Can i not use the registry function?
Please help me and tell me what ccleaner can do.

Thanks in advance. The most informative answer will get my ten points.

Don’t worry. CCleaner practically makes one turn somersaults and then recite the Pledge of Allegiance, *backwards*, before it allows the user to delete any registry entries using the registry cleaner function.

Plus CCleaner gives you the option to back-up the "un-cleaned" registry before any changes are made.

That being said, registry cleaners, of any kind are highly over-rated. Years ago they may have had a use, but the modern Windows Registry is huge. Deleting a few un-needed entries seldom make any performance increase.

But the ‘Cleaner’ function of CCleaner IS useful for removing unnecessary cruft and crap (its original name was CrapCleaner) from ones hard drive.

Windows tends to generate a lot of files for its own use (temp files, log files, temporary internet files, index.dat files etc) and over time these can take up a lot of hard drive space.

Plus, viruses and malware can often "hide" in your temporary files and can be hard to remove…CCleaner can delete ‘em. I always recommend the use of CCleaner as the final step in any kind of malware removal.

And I, myself have used the registry cleaner function of CCleaner on occasion a few times over the years without issue…but I was looking to tidy up something specific.

CCleaner is a useful program…at a real nice price!

What is the difference between an anti virus program and a registry cleaner?

What is the difference between an anti virus program and a registry cleaner? Do they do the same thing? Do you need both of them? Which are the best programs

an antivirus program depending on what one will do different things but mainly is to help prevent you from getting virus’s and deleting them once you have them…

the registry is kind of like a behind the scenes brain of your computer in a way. everytime you download a program or change a setting on your computer etc. a registry key is usually added or changed. even by simply changing your desktop background. anyways a registry cleaner does not prevent virus’s in anyway unless you have a virus that created a registry key which many do. but reg. cleaners are used to mainly cleanup old/unused registry keys. this will usually provide some speed improvement in your computer. it is highly recommended to have an anti-virus program. a reg. cleaner is just like a system tool not necessary but useful in some cases

cCleaner is an Award-winning Registry Cleaner, and it’s completely free, from:

I have used it for many years, and it works like a charm.

But, if you think it will solve problems like your ‘computer is running so slow’, for example, it won’t.

My Registry Cleaner Did Not Do The Job – Here’s Help

July 8th, 2010

A PC may suffer from many problems like it usually becomes slow whenever there is a problem in the registry for the PC. In that case people run the registry cleaner. What if my registry cleaner doesn’t work? Then you may get stuck.

In that case there are some few tips that are in dilemmas that would cause you to say: ‘my registry cleaner is not working’. First of all, run the system in safe mode, make the necessary changes and then reboot the system and get logged in. make use of the recovery disks to recover the console. In case the above tip doesn’t work then reboot the system by pressing F8 and running the system under the category of last known good configuration.

If this also doesn’t work then try to run ‘%system root%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe’. If the above all mentioned methods fail then try to reinstall Windows.

Now if everything you have tried above fails and you are really stuck for what to do next, perhaps it’s time to take a look at the registry cleaner program you were using in the first place.  Was your program highly-rated?  Did it come with a money-back guarantee if it did not work for you?  If not, be sure to take a look at one of the modern, effective registry programs that are on the web today.

Take time to read the reviews and chose a highly-rated program with a good satisfaction guarantee.  Then you will be able to say ‘my registry cleaner fixed my PC’.

Do We Really Need a Registry Cleaner?

July 4th, 2010

The answer to that question regarding the need of

registry cleaner is an obvious ‘yes’. If you clean your registry on a regular basis your system will run faster and more efficiently. But if one asks such a question then the possibility is that the person really does not know what the system registry really is. So, lets venture to explain. The registry is a central database where windows, the operating system of the computer, keep a record of all the changes that are made on the computer. This may be related to hardware or software of the permissions given or withdrawn from the profile of a user. It is the registry that manages the startup and shutdown as well as the operation of the operating system so to speak. If this central database gets clogged with useless data the system will slow down if not crash altogether. Here is where

registry cleaner software makes its importance known.

How The Registry Gets Clogged

It is during the process of downloading programs or files from the Internet that the registry gets filled with redundant information such as ActiveX controls and stuff. Some hardware such as plug and play peripherals also have to be registered in the registry. But when these programs and peripherals are removed the registry entries still remain. This takes up space on the drives as well as slows the system down. A good registry cleaner such as the windows XP registry cleaner or the free PC registry cleaner can remove this stagnant information from the registry and make the system more efficient and faster.

The Registry Replaced The INI storage system in Win 95.

The registry was introduced in Windows 95. Before this the system used to store configuration information in INI files. Each software package had its own INI file system. These files were scattered all over the system’s hard drive, which made it very difficult to keep track of the system settings. Though the central registry system assimilates the configuration settings it has its own set of problems. The greatest problem it poses is that it is a single point of failure. One snag and the whole system crashes.

Don’t Manually Mess With The Registry

Even though it is possible to edit the registry manually and clean it, it is not recommended. Do not touch the registry unless you know exactly what you are doing. It is better to download a registry cleaner from the Internet to get a thorough job efficiently done and get the system up and running.

Only the best choice as your registry cleaner software can probably saves a lot of your time and money.

When we think what registry is? An answer popup that it would be type of a register which stores information, but information for what? Information for user or for the system itself. Registry is basically a database where information is in the form data and settings of software and hardware is stored. It often happens while installation of new software damage our win-registry, causing our operating system to start popping up error messages, reduce our PC’s speed and even slow down our Pc’s internet speed.

It is very important to guard our registry and prevent it from damages so that our system perform function properly. If our machine’s registry is properly maintained and repaired, than it will guarantee of long lasting good effects on the health of the PC. If you are well aware of the system registry’s functionality, than there is not a big deal to repair it but in this case too there is a risk of loss of data and takes too much time, so why not go to a computer engineer who sort out the fault and recover it but for this you have to pay the heavy bills of that technician.

Here we have a much better option which not only save your time but also in your budget and is a long lasting solution of your registry problems. Registry cleaner is a tool which enables you to automatically scan, identify and fix/delete unnecessary configurations from your Win registry. By doing so it easily enables you to eliminate many unwanted system errors, active x problems, driver errors, Runtime errors and a wide range of other familiar Windows problems that most of us experience almost daily.

There are number of registry solutions you can find on e-market but it up to you, to choose the best registry cleaner. But the best registry cleaner should have the following traits:-

  • Easy to Use
  • Scanning for Activex, Shared Dll, Fonts, Invalid File association, File reference errors in registry
  • Automatic Registy backup and restore.
  • Scheduled scan and repairs plus setting of restore point for windows xp
  • Functional on 64- bit versions of windows xp and windows vista

Couple of recommendations from experts are:-

  • RegInOut
  • Registry Easy
