Does anyone know of a totally free registry cleaner that is comprehensive?

I downloaded both Registry Mechanic and Ccleaner. It turned out that Registry Mechanic offered only a free trial. The free trial included running the program, pointing out hundreds of errors and fixing something like sixteen errors and leaving the others.

Ccleaner was truly free and I thought it would do the same job as Registry Mechanic, but it didn’t. When I ran Registry Mechanic after Ccleaner, it still pointed out 323 errors.

So, I’d like to download a totally free product that will fix some of these errors. Any suggestions?

Nothing free.

The next best thing is to get WINASO Registry Optimizer. It will detect more errors than Registry Mechanic (which ignores many of what it reports as bad as not that important).

The trial version does the same as Registry Mechanic except you can run it over and over again to fix your errors. Might take hours up on hours, but will be free.

It also defrags the registry database and yes, you can see a significant increase in speed, if you’ve installed, removed a lot of programs.

Check out Iobit Advanced Windowscare or Winaso.

Free version of Winaso fixes 10 problems at a time instead of all problems at one time.

To be honest with you.. it will be hard to find this.

If you do find a free one, it will be from a company you’ve never heard of before.

My honest piece of advice is to purchase RegistryMechanic.. this program finds everything and is great in tight registry spots.

These programs can help you clean your registry for free. I personally like CCleaner and Advanced WindowsCare Personal because they do more than just clean my registry.

    1) CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

    2) Advanced WindowsCare Personal is a comprehensive PC care utility that takes a one-click approach to help protect, repair, and optimize your computer.

    3) Eusing Free Registry Cleaner is a free registry repair software that allows you to safely clean and repair registry problems.

    4) Registry Distiller is a free registry cleaner that will optimize your system by removing obsolete and incorrect information from the registry, resulting in a faster computer that is less prone to errors.

    5) TweakNow RegCleaner Standard is a free registry cleaner that will scour your system’s registry for useless/unneeded registry entries and optionally remove these for you. These entries are often left behind after the removal of software, cluttering the registry and possibly hindering your system’s overall performance.

Well there is none, I would recommend Registry Booster from Uniblue. Its microsoft certified so you know its not bs, also some programs will detect the registry differently and clean it differently. So you might actually have 0 errors according to microsofts certified partners. The link is below

Realize that Registry Mechanics wants you to buy its software. So it uses very strict rules for finding "problems" in the registry, so that it will always display a frightening large number of "problems" when run. In fact, it finds ways to catagorize one problem under 20 or 30 different headings to inflate the number. Otherwise, you will never buy the program.

No cleaner will ever fix everything. And a cleaner that is too agressive will take out things that it shouldn’t and may cause as many problems as it fixes.

I have worked with both, and found Ccleaner to be the better of the programs. It cleans what really needs to be cleaned, and leaves things that are "questionable" so as not the do damage.

There is an old rule about such thing – if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. If your PC is run good after using Ccleaner, then don’t let another program bully you into fixing something that isn;t broken.

    Here’s a Old,"obsolete" one.
I’ve used it for years and still do.
It may not be updated or 100% effective,,but it’s VERY good even now

    Here’s some help/documentation of it
    http://freeware4u.com/shots/regcleaner/readme.htm

Here’s a place to download it from
    "RegCleaner 43 by Jouni Vouri"

    ………………………………….

Here’s Another one I use that works very well
    It’s "TRIALWARE"
After a while it Does expire,,,,,,but when it does it remains functional ,updateable, etc.

The "CATCH" after expiration is that it makes you WAIT when you click it & it’s screen appears.
The Older it’s Expired,,,the Longer it makes you WAIT.

    I’m up to 785 Seconds,,, over 13 Minutes,,,LOL

It’s not as bad a nuisance as it sounds.
Took me a while to get used to the delay though.
I just click it to Start,,go on about my business,,and come back Later and actually Run It.

It works Very Well and has a BUNCH of easy-2-use features.
Also has a "1-Click Maintenance" Screen,,,where much is automated.
Still has the same delay though

To ME,,,it’s worth the wait to get it running afterExpiration of Free Trial

It does a VERY GOOD overall CleanUp ,,including registry.
And has a buncha stuff it can Tweak & Optimize to your tastes.

    Good Luck

To choose a best registry cleaner, the most important thing is that it should be a safe and stable one. I mean it won’t delete useful files from your computer and then strongly impact computer performance.

Also, you should know the importance of registry.Registry is the centre database of your computer operating system which contains information and settings for hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software, and per-user settings. You must load the registry whenever you launch any programs on your computer. If the registry is too fat or with some errors, computer’s performance will seriously be impacted.

It should have a powerful function of fixing registry errors and optimize registry. However, you just need to click simple buttons to take a full to scan your computer and find errors. Then, you still need to Click simple buttons to fix them all.
