how can I down load up dates from pc tools antivirus?

I click on updates for pc tools everything is going fine but then it stops and says that it failed up loading ,check proxy server and who knows what else. can you please help me I don`t know what to do I can`t download up dates for any anti virus or software that asks for updates. I am going crazy! Help please. Thank you

Are you connected to the internet? And if so, are you connected through a proxy server?
