Is it wise to have norton and pc tools running on the same pc to remove viruses?

No, it is not wise.

Only use one anti-virus product. Running more than one actively can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective as well as being a huge system resource drain. Below are links to Norton and SmartComputing outlining problems when having more than one active AV product:

    It is unwise to have Norton on your computer at all.
    AVG, Crapcleaner, Zone Alarm are about all you need
